Expert analysis and insights on sustainability in aviation

We all want a world where we can fly and do so while reducing our carbon footprint. Sustainability is the aviation industry’s greatest challenge, and we are not shying away from our responsibilities.

IATA believes that it is possible and credible to decarbonise our industry while continuing to facilitate its growth and economic contribution. The various roadmaps that IATA published outlining the path to net zero, confirm the industry's longstanding assumption that Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF) will be the major contributor to the industry’s decarbonization. IATA estimates that SAF will account for about 62% of the decarbonization that the industry will need.

Listen to IATA’s Director General discuss the key measures aviation must take to stay competitive and sustainable as well as other industry experts as they deep-dive into key topics relating to environmental sustainability.
